Spring Encampment at Camp Tanasi

Each spring, the Service Unit takes over Camp Tanasi for a weekend!!
Spring Encampment is an event in which the Service Unit enjoys a weekend of camping as one big group at Camp Tanasi, one of our Council-owned camp properties, on Norris Lake in Andersonville, TN.
While at Encampment, a host troop will plan most of the schedule and activities. The fee per attendee will cover lodging, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday’s lunch and dinner in the Dining Hall. It also includes a s’more at the Saturday night campfire, the activities throughout the weekend, and a fun patch. Troops typically have a window of time on Saturday afternoon to plan their own activities, such as badge work, a hike around camp, etc.
Each troop must have enough registered, background-checked volunteers to meet Safetywise ratios for their troop level(s). They are also required to have at least one Outdoor Trained and one First Aid/CPR certified volunteer in attendance for the duration of the trip.
Transportation to and from Camp Tanasi will be provided by the troop. Each driver must have an MVR (motor vehicle records) check on file with GSCSA before they can drive any Girl Scout but their own.
Registration
Registration is done as a troop through CheddarUp. Typically, the registration fee for Girl Scouts and adult volunteers can be paid to the Service Unit in two equal payments or one full payment. The due dates for those payments will be communicated to Leaders at Service Unit Meetings or through the LRSU BAND.
